Welcome to WornByHer, your destination for sustainable designer dress hire across Australia. By using our website (wornbyher.com.au), placing an order, or engaging with any of our services, you agree to comply with and be legally bound by these Terms and Conditions. This agreement is between you and WornByHer (referred to as “we”, “us”, “our”). Please read these Terms carefully before using our services. If you do not agree with any part of these Terms, you must discontinue use immediately.

WornByHer offers access to a curated collection of designer fashion for hire, with all items supplied and fulfilled by our clothing hire business operating in Australia. By proceeding with any booking, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms and Conditions, our Privacy Policy. It is your responsibility to review all applicable terms before completing your order.

We reserve the right to update these Terms and modify or discontinue any part of our service at any time. Any changes will take effect immediately upon being posted to our website. Where possible, we will provide notice of material changes that may significantly affect your use of the service. The most recent version of these Terms was last updated in June 2025. We recommend checking this page regularly to stay informed of any updates.

 

Rental Period

Your rental period begins on the first day of your selected hire dates and ends on the last day of that period. Both the delivery and return days are inclusive. For example, a 4-day hire from Friday to Monday means your item is expected to arrive on Friday and must be returned by close of business Monday.

We strongly recommend selecting your delivery or collection date 1–2 days prior to your event, in case of unforeseen delays.

All postal hires are sent via Express Post, and tracking information will be emailed to you during the week of your rental. Once tracking has been provided, it is your responsibility to monitor the delivery. While we aim for your order to arrive on your chosen date, delivery is only guaranteed by 6:00pm for postal orders, in line with Australia Post guidelines.

If your return date falls on a Saturday, please check the opening hours of your local post office in advance, as many have limited hours. You are responsible for ensuring your item is returned within the rental timeframe.

  

Payment

By entering this agreement, you authorise WornByHer to charge your selected payment method in accordance with the terms outlined below. You confirm that you are authorised to use the nominated card or account and agree not to dispute the payment if WornByHer meets its obligations in supplying the rental item(s).

You also authorise WornByHer to charge your payment method for any additional fees, including but not limited to late return fees, damage fees, or other charges specified in this agreement. If a charge cannot be processed, you agree to pay the invoiced amount within 5 working days. In the event your payment is reversed or declined, you agree to settle the outstanding amount within 48 hours of notification.

WornByHer reserves the right to recover any amounts owed under this agreement through all necessary means, including debt collection services and legal action. Any associated recovery costs will be added to the total amount payable.

 

Late Fees

All hired apparel must be returned to WornByHer by the agreed Rental Return Due Date. If an item is not received by this date, a late fee of $30 per day will be charged until the item is returned. Sundays and public holidays are excluded from late fee calculations due to postal closures.

If the item is not returned within 5 days of the due date, it will be classified as non-returned, and you will be charged 150% of the full retail price of the item, in addition to any accrued late fees.

 

Postage and Late Delivery

WornByHer uses Australia Post and StarTrack to deliver all hire items express. While we do everything possible to ensure timely delivery, WornByHer is not liable for delays, delivery failures, or lost packages caused by third-party postal services. These are risks inherent to postal delivery and outside of our control.

When booking a hire, you must select a Delivery Date—we recommend choosing a date 1–2 days before your event. Items will be dispatched with the goal of arriving on or before this date. A tracking number will be sent to your email and/or mobile once your parcel is dispatched. Please check your junk/spam folders and contact us immediately if you haven't received tracking information at least one day prior to your delivery date.

You may request the parcel be left in a safe place without signature, but this is not guaranteed. Whether the item is left without a signature is at the discretion of the delivery provider. If Australia Post confirms that delivery was attempted or completed (via signature, photo, or GPS evidence), it will be deemed delivered. If the parcel is misplaced or stolen after that point, you will be liable for the full replacement cost (usually the full retail value of the item).

If your package is marked as “Delivered - Left in a Safe Place” and cannot be located, notify us immediately. We will contact Australia Post to assist. If Australia Post deems the item delivered and accepts no liability, you will be responsible for the replacement cost.

For items with a retail value over $700 AUD, WornByHer will include Signature on Delivery at no additional cost. If your order includes this service, you must be available to sign for it or collect it from Australia Post. Failure to do so may delay your access to the item, and this will not qualify for a refund or credit.

It is your responsibility to provide a complete and accurate delivery address. This includes apartment/unit numbers, company names, and any other information necessary for successful delivery. If an item is undeliverable due to incorrect or incomplete address details, and cannot be recovered, you will be liable for the replacement cost and will not be eligible for a refund or credit.

If your item arrives too late for your event due to Australia Post delays and is returned unworn within 24 hours of delivery, you will receive a store credit. If WornByHer dispatched the item at least 3 business days before your delivery date, the credit will exclude shipping costs. If the dispatch window was shorter, you’ll receive a full store credit including shipping costs unless the order was placed as a last minute order.*

Credits are only issued for items returned unworn within 24 hours (unless otherwise agreed) and are valid for 3 years. No credit is provided if the item arrives slightly late but is still suitable for your event.

All postage is within Australia only. WornByHer does not currently offer international hire services.

 

Last-Minute Orders

Orders placed less than 3 full business days before your selected delivery date are considered last-minute. The cut-off time is 3pm (Brisbane time). For example, an order for Friday delivery placed after 3pm Tuesday qualifies as last-minute.

If your order is deemed last-minute, you’ll be notified during checkout and in your confirmation email. WornByHer will prioritise and dispatch last-minute orders as quickly as possible. However, we are not liable for any delivery delays caused by Australia Post.

If your item arrives too late for your event due to it being a last minute order, or Australia Post delays and is returned unworn within 24 hours of delivery, you will receive a store credit minus shipping fees.

If there is significant concern that your item will not arrive on time, WornByHer may:

- Contact you to offer the option to accept the delivery risk; or

- Cancel the shipment and issue a full refund.

 

Cleaning & Garment Care Policy

At WornByHer, professional cleaning is included with every hire. Our team ensures that each garment is thoroughly cleaned—whether that means dry cleaning or delicate hand-washing—based on the specific needs of the item.

We understand that small accidents happen, and minor stains that can be removed through standard cleaning will not incur any additional fees. However, if a garment requires extra treatment, those costs may be passed on to you.

You must not attempt to clean or repair any item yourself, or have it cleaned by anyone else. Doing so may result in further damage, and if the garment is permanently stained or damaged as a result, you may be charged up to 150% of the garment’s original retail price (RRP) to cover repair or replacement costs. This charge is in addition to any rental or postage fees already paid.

If a garment is damaged or stained during your hire period—no matter how minor—you agree to contact us immediately. This allows us to give tailored advice and handle the issue appropriately, including any urgent cleaning requirements.

Fake Tan Use

Fake tan is used at your own discretion. If it causes staining that cannot be removed by professional cleaning, the Damage or Loss policy will apply. Please note that Accidental Damage Protection does not cover fake tan stains.

 

Damage or Loss

If your garment arrives with any damage (such as stains or rips), please take clear photos and notify WornByher immediately. If you fail to report damage upon delivery, we may assume it occurred during your rental period.

Do not attempt to clean, repair, cut, alter, pin, iron, or hem tape any garment rented through WornByher. If a repair is minor—like reattaching a button or re-stitching a seam—we will handle it at no cost to you. Stains that can be removed through professional dry cleaning are also not a problem.

However, if the garment is damaged beyond minor repair, or if the damage is not covered by any included insurance (if applicable), you will be liable for the cost of restoring or replacing the item. If the garment cannot be restored to a rentable condition, you may be charged up to 150% of the original recommended retail price (RRP). This fee is in addition to any rental or postage fees already paid. The garment must still be returned, regardless of the damage.

In cases where a garment is lost, stolen, or not returned, you will be liable for up to 200% of the original RRP. This reflects both the resale value and the loss of future rental income, particularly for high-demand or discontinued styles that may no longer be available to repurchase.

If the item is lost by Australia Post, you will not be charged. To ensure this protection, you must return your rental over-the-counter at an Australia Post office or depot. This ensures the parcel is scanned and logged in their system as evidence of return. Do not place the item in a street post box, as this does not create a scan record and could make you liable for a lost item.

By placing a rental order, you authorise WornByher to charge your payment method for any applicable damage or loss fees. You will be offered the opportunity to use an alternative payment method before any charges are applied.

When determining replacement value, WornByher will consider:

- The current market value of the garment

- Its availability for repurchase

- Its condition at the time of loss or damage

- Any cancellations of future bookings caused by the incident

 

Accidental Damage Protection

What’s Covered

WornByHer offers limited coverage for accidental, repairable damage to hired garments. This includes:

- Broken zips

- Split seams

- Small holes

- Minor stains requiring additional cleaning

Repairs are covered up to a maximum of $100 per rental.

What’s Not Covered

The following situations are not covered under Accidental Damage Protection:

1. Irreparable Damage: Any damage that permanently compromises the garment beyond repair.

2. Loss: Loss of the item due to theft, carelessness, or postal issues where there is no verifiable evidence of return (e.g. valid tracking updates or an Australia Post lodgement receipt).

3. Excessive Damage: Damage that results in a repair cost above $200.

4. Non-Accidental or Reckless Damage:

- Damage caused by deliberate actions or extreme carelessness

- Multiple stains across the garment, which indicate misuse

- Staining from fake tan products (it is the renter’s responsibility to use only non-staining tanning products)

- Damage from attempted alterations, including pinning or other temporary modifications

Your Responsibility for Significant Damage or Loss

If the garment is lost, irreparably damaged, or the repair exceeds the $200 coverage limit, you may be liable for the full estimated market value of the item, as determined by the WornByHer team. For more details, please refer to our Damage and Loss Policy.

 

Returns Policy

All postal hires from WornByHer include a prepaid Australia Post return satchel. Customers are required to use this satchel to return their item. Two days before your return due date, you will receive an email containing a QR code for the return shipping label. This QR code must be presented at an Australia Post counter when lodging your return.

If your delivery does not include the return satchel, please notify us immediately.

Items must be returned over the counter at an Australia Post store or depot by 3:00pm on or before the specified return date, which is clearly stated at checkout and in your confirmation email. If your return date falls on a Sunday or public holiday, you may return it on the next business day before 1:00pm without incurring late fees.

If you are unable to attend a post office or depot, you may return the parcel using a yellow Australia Post Express street postbox, ensuring it is posted before the final collection time on the return date. This option is at your own risk. If the parcel is lost or never scanned, you will be liable for the full replacement cost. To protect yourself, take a time-stamped photo of the parcel being posted.

Do not use red street postboxes. These are collected infrequently and can cause significant delays, which may lead to late fees.

If the prepaid satchel is lost, you must either:

Contact us to request a new shipping label (we can send this via email), or

Purchase a new Australia Post Express Post satchel yourself and provide us with the new tracking number.

For local hires, all garments must be returned directly to the designated collection address by 7:00pm on the agreed return date.

If a garment is damp or wet at the time of return, please contact us immediately. Shipping wet items can cause mould or permanent damage. If an item is returned in a condition damaged due to being damp, you may be liable for up to 150% of the garment’s original RRP.

 

Late Return Policy

If you return your rental item(s) after the agreed Return Date, WornByHer reserves the right to charge a late fee.

Late fees are calculated as your total rental price divided by the number of days in your hire period, charged per day late, up to a maximum of 120% of the item's original RRP. For example, if you selected a 4-day hire for $100, the late fee would be $25 per day.

We may allow a grace period of 1–2 days, but only if it does not impact future bookings. If another customer’s booking is affected, late fees will apply without exception.

Any items lodged after 4pm local time will be considered lodged the next business day, and this will count as an additional day late.

By proceeding with your booking, you authorise WornByHer to charge applicable late fees to the payment method used at checkout. You will be offered the chance to use an alternative payment method before any charge is processed.

 

Refunds, Cancellations & Exchanges – WornByHer

WornByHer does not offer refunds for cancelled or exchanged orders. In most cases, eligible cancellations or changes will result in a store credit, minus any applicable cancellation fees.

Cancellations

Within 24 Hours of Booking: You are eligible for a full refund, unless your order has already been dispatched or the cancellation request is made less than 72 hours before the booking start date (12:01am).

14 or More Days Before Booking Start Date: You are eligible for a store credit equal to the full amount paid (including postage). No refunds are provided.

Less Than 14 Days Before Dispatch or Collection Date: A store credit will be issued for the full amount paid (including postage), minus a $30 cancellation fee.

 

Exchanges

Exchanges are subject to the same cancellation policy as outlined above. If an exchange is requested more than 14 days before the scheduled dispatch or collection date, no cancellation fee will apply. If the replacement item is less expensive, the difference will be credited to your account. If the replacement item is more expensive, you will be charged the additional amount.

In exceptional circumstances, WornByHer may consider alternative outcomes at its discretion. Please contact us to discuss your situation.

Store Credit Terms

Credit notes are valid for 2 years, unless otherwise specified.

Once a credit note is used for a new booking, the sale is final and no further cancellations or exchanges will be granted, even for incorrect fit.

Requests to extend expiry dates may be considered but are not guaranteed.

 

Cancellations by WornByHer

WornByHer reserves the right to cancel any booking at its discretion. If your booking is cancelled, compensation will be limited to a full refund of the amount you paid for the booking and postage. WornByHer will not be liable for any indirect or consequential losses resulting from the cancellation.

Common reasons for cancellation may include, but are not limited to:

The item being damaged, lost, or stolen by a previous customer.

Delays in return from a prior rental.

Postal or courier delays that make it unlikely the item will arrive on time, including delays due to external factors such as COVID-19 restrictions.

In all such cases, a full refund will be issued to the original payment method. Please allow 1–10 business days for the refund to be processed and appear in your account.

 

Sizing Issues & Returns Policy

At WornByher, we strive to provide detailed sizing information to help you choose the right fit. However, we cannot accept responsibility if you select an item or size that does not fit or suit you. If you are uncertain about sizing, please contact us before booking.

Return and Credit Eligibility

If your item does not fit, you may be eligible for store credit, subject to the following conditions:

You must notify us within 24 hours of receiving your rental by emailing hello@wornbyher.com.au or sending a direct message on Instagram @wornbyher.

Return the unworn item using the prepaid return satchel provided. The parcel must be posted via Express Post at your local Australia Post Office within 24 hours of receiving your item. Please keep a photo of your postage receipt as proof.

The item must be returned unworn, unwashed, with all tags intact, and received by us in this condition to qualify for credit.

Once we receive and inspect the returned item, a store credit will be issued minus a $30 cancellation fee and any applicable shipping costs.

Store credit is valid for 2 years from the date of issue.

Important

- No refunds or credits will be issued if you keep the item despite it not fitting or suiting you.

- We recommend contacting the brand directly if you require detailed sizing advice before booking.

 

Defects + Quality of Hire items

When you receive your WornByher parcel, please check the items immediately. If you find you have been sent the wrong item, contact us right away. If time permits, we will do our best to provide a replacement so you still have something to wear.

If the correct item is delivered but has noticeable damage, faults, or stains, you must notify us within 24 hours of receiving it and before wearing the item. Failure to report issues within this timeframe may result in refusal of any refund or compensation, as it will be unclear when or how the damage occurred. Even if you plan to wear the item, notifying us allows you to be eligible for a discount and ensures you won’t be charged for existing damage.

Please understand that WornByher’s hire items are not brand new and may show signs of normal wear and tear, such as minor fabric pilling, small stains, marks, or slight alterations in material elasticity. These minor imperfections are to be expected and do not usually qualify for refunds.

If you have been advised that a refund or store credit may be offered, you must return the item within 1 business day of notification unless otherwise agreed. All items will be assessed upon return before any refund, discount, or credit is processed.

Items with visible wear or faults will have this noted in their product condition details on the website. Minor or insignificant faults may not be disclosed if they do not affect the item’s wearability.

By hiring from WornByher, you acknowledge that garments are subject to general wear from previous hires. If you believe an item is damaged, defective, or incorrect, please contact us promptly with clear photos as evidence. Failure to notify us within the specified time may result in you being responsible for any damage fees.

 

Terms and Conditions

Worn By Her offers a try-on service via local pick-up and Australia Post, available on a case-by-case basis and subject to garment availability. By booking a try-on, you agree to the following terms and conditions:

1. Try-On Availability

  • Postal try-ons are offered at our discretion and subject to garment availability. Some popular pieces may not be eligible due to high rental demand.
  • Please contact us to confirm if the garment you're interested in is available for a postal or local try-on.

2. Return Requirements

  • The garment must be returned within 24 hours of receiving it:
  • Postal Try-Ons: The 24-hour return window begins from the time the parcel is marked as delivered.
  • Local Pick-Up: The 24-hour window begins at the time of collection.
  • Items must be lodged over the counter at an Australia Post office (not a street posting box), and proof of lodgement must be provided.

3. Booking & Credits

  • If the garment is returned within 24 hours and you decide to hire it, you’ll receive a $50 credit toward your booking—essentially making the try-on free (excluding postage). This credit applies only if the booking is made within 24 hours of returning the try-on.
  • If the garment is returned within 24 hours but no booking is made within that time, you will receive a $40 store credit (a $10 fee applies). Credit is valid for 2 years.
  • If the garment is not returned within 24 hours, the entire $50 try-on fee is forfeited, and the try-on will be treated as a 4-day rental with no refund.

4. Garment Condition & Responsibility

  • Postal try-ons are strictly for fitting purposes only. Garments must be returned in the same condition they were sent.
  • If the item shows any signs of wearfragrancemarkstandirtmakeup, or other smells, a cleaning fee of $40 will apply.
  • If we believe the item has been worn, the full hire price will be charged.
  • You are fully responsible for the garment during the try-on period and are liable for any damagetheft, or replacement costs.
  • bond may be required, which will be refunded upon safe and acceptable return of the garment.

5. Rental Priority & Holds

  • Rental bookings are prioritised over try-ons.
  • If your postal try-on needs to be rescheduled or cancelled due to a confirmed rental booking, you will be notified as soon as possible.

6. No Refunds

  • Try-on fees are non-refundable under all circumstances.

7. Additional Terms

  • All standard Rental Terms and Conditions apply during the try-on period.
  • By proceeding with a try-on request, you agree to all the terms outlined above.


Buy now Products (Ex-Rentals)

No returns or refunds are offered for ex-rental or 2nd-hand items purchased at WornByHer

If you feel the item is significantly different to what was described, please within 24 hours of delivery and we will take it under consideration. No returns are offered for issues with size or fit.

Please note that there may be a delay with delivery if there are existing rentals in place for the item. You'll be notified of the expected delivery date within 24 hours of your 'Buy Now' order being placed, and you'll be given the option of a refund if the delay in dispatch will be more than 1 week.

 

Rewards Club

Worn By Her offers a Rewards Club as part of our consignment program, providing eligible users with points once their listed item has been successfully hired out.

Eligibility and Earning Points:

Points are awarded only after your consigned item has been hired at least once.

Rewards points are calculated based on the hire value of your item and credited to your account once the hire transaction is complete and the return period has passed.

You must have an active account with Worn By Her to earn and redeem points.

Exclusions:

Points do not apply to Buy Now purchases (outright sales) or any purchases made outside of the hire process.

Rewards points are non-transferable, non-refundable, and cannot be exchanged for cash.

Discounts or credits earned through the Rewards Club cannot be combined with other promotional offers, unless explicitly stated.

Redemption and Use:

Points can be redeemed for future hire credits on wornbyher.com.au.

Worn By Her reserves the right to modify the point conversion rate, eligible products, or terms of the program at any time without notice.

Program Changes and Termination:

Worn By Her may suspend or terminate the Rewards Club at any time without prior notice.

Any misuse or fraudulent activity related to the Rewards Club may result in forfeiture of points and/or account suspension.

By participating in the Rewards Club, you agree to comply with these terms in addition to our general Terms and Conditions.

Limitation of Liability

By accepting this hire agreement, you acknowledge and agree that WornByher will not be held responsible for any loss, cost, damage, or expense you may incur, whether directly or indirectly, due to cancellation, non-delivery, late delivery, or the condition of any hire item. This includes, but is not limited to, financial loss and emotional distress.

 

Identification

WornByHer may request a copy of government-issued photo identification—such as a driver’s licence or passport—as a security measure for your booking. Reasonable attempts will be made to contact you prior to your hire period to obtain this information. If valid identification is not provided upon request, WornByHer reserves the right to cancel your booking without notice.

 

International Travel

WornByHer garments are available for hire within Australia. If you intend to take a garment overseas, you must obtain prior written approval from WornByHer before placing your booking through our website.

All standard Terms and Conditions continue to apply to international use. This includes liability for lost or damaged items. For example, if your airline misplaces your baggage, you remain responsible for the full replacement cost of the garment.

A security deposit may also be required for international travel bookings. This will be refunded upon safe and timely return of the garment in its original condition.

 

Changes to the Rental Agreement

WornByHer reserves the right to update these Terms and Conditions, including those of our rental partners, at any time. Please ensure you review and accept the latest version each time you place an order.

Worn By Her is a proud partner of dress hire marketplace, All The Dresses. All The Dresses only partners with Australia's best and most professional designer hire businesses and we're happy to have been a partner since 2024.

If your booking was placed through All The Dresses, a dress hire marketplace we partner with, the terms agreed on their website when you checked out will apply. You should check your order confirmation email or visit their website for terms & conditions rather than reading the terms on this page.
