About the role

  • Casual position with potential to move into part-time/full-time
  • Location: Burleigh Heads
  • Hours: Approximately 2 days per week, with the potential for additional hours as the business grows. Availability on Fridays and Saturdays is essential.
  • Responsible for delivering exceptional customer service, assisting clients with dress selection and fittings, managing rentals and returns, maintaining garment quality, and supporting the day-to-day operations of a growing dress hire business.

Key Responsibilities

Customer Service

  • Welcome and assist customers in-store.
  • Provide styling advice and recommend suitable dresses and accessories.
  • Conduct fitting appointments and ensure a positive customer experience.
  • Respond promptly to customer inquiries, bookings, and requests.
  • Handle customer concerns professionally and efficiently.
  • Assist in achieving rental and sales targets through exceptional customer service and styling advice.

Dress Hire Operations

  • Process dress bookings, rentals and payments.
  • Prepare dresses and accessories for customer collection or delivery.
  • Check garments upon return for cleanliness, damage, and missing items.
  • Maintain accurate rental schedules and booking records.
  • Follow up on overdue returns when required.
  • Prepare and lodge parcels for shipment at the post office and with courier services.

Garment Care and Quality Control

  • Steam, press, and prepare garments for hire.
  • Inspect dresses for stains, damage, or wear and tear.
  • Potentional to co-ordinate repairs and alterations as needed.
  • Ensure all garments meet presentation and quality standards.

Inventory Management

  • Organise and maintain dress inventory.
  • Update inventory systems with new stock, returns, and repairs.
  • Conduct regular stock counts and inventory audits.
  • Ensure dresses and accessories are stored correctly and safely.

Store Operations

  • Open and close the store according to company procedures.
  • Maintain a clean, organised, and professional showroom environment.
  • Assist with general administrative duties and reporting.
  • Follow workplace health, safety, and security procedures.

Skills and Qualifications

Essential

  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and organisational abilities.
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Professional presentation and interpersonal skills.
  • Basic computer and point-of-sale system knowledge.
  • Must be 18+ with a drivers license.

Desirable

  • Previous experience in retail, fashion, bridal, or dress hire.
  • Knowledge of garment care and fashion styling.
  • Sales experience and confidence working with customers.
